Spring Home & Garden Event
Saturday, March 14, 2015 was our annual Lawn & Garden Show including vendors and training sessions including our own Dave Heilman speaking on “Old Wives Tales of Gardening”. Ask him about it next time you are in the store.
On a freezing cold day in March, Deb Good shows customers how to
enjoy gardening inside by planting house plants in unusual containers.
Giving Back to the Community, Sept. 2014

Longenecker’s Hardware has donated $600 to the Manheim Athletic Association and $600 to the
Lititz RecCenter from a recent Back-To-School promotion at the store.
Longenecker’s donated 10% of their August receipts of office & school supplies to the two local charities.
The organizations will use the money for children’s athletics and sports programs.
“Thank you to the community for continuing to shopping local. The community has sustained us for
77 years and that enables us to give back by supporting sports, arts, education and local events,”
states Steven Ober, a co- owner of Longenecker’s.
According to the American Independent Business Alliance, dollars spent at local merchants create
a multiplier effect in the local economy, meaning that from each dollar spent at a local independent
merchant, up to 3.5 times as much wealth is generated in the local economy compared to a dollar
spent at a chain-owned business.
